Henry L. Zucker (1910-1998) was born in Cleveland, Ohio. A graduate of Glenville High School, Zucker graduated from Western Reserve University in 1932 and then completed a master's degree from the university's School of Applied Social Sciences in 1935. He began his career as a social worker with local agencies and during World War II served as a special consultant in Washington, D. C.
